2019-2020

The 2020 FRC challenge, Infinite Recharge, was inspired by the global race towards renewable energy.  To win, teams had to work quickly to power up their Shield Generators and protect FIRST City from an incoming barrage of asteroids.  Points were awarded for shooting power cells into any of the three goals of their power ports: one point awarded for the ground level shot, two for a high shot and three for a high shot into a small target.  Just as in most FRC games, Infinite Recharge began with a 15-second autonomous period, where robots could score by 1) moving from the initiation line and 2) scoring power cells in the power port.  After scoring enough power cells, alliances scored additional points by manipulating the control panel by spinning it the correct number of times (Rotation Control) and subsequently to the correct color (Position Control).  By the end of the challenge, robots who made it to the rendezvous point scored points, and robots who could hang from the generator switch scored bonus points.  The entire alliance was also awarded extra points for balancing the generator switch at the end of the game.
